The Backbone Investment programme will be delivered in four phases. The first phase will involve feasibility and design works. It will also involve the construction of Agge Port, Highway, Rail Infrastructure, Power Plants, Water Irrigation Plants, Solar Energy Plants, LNG Plant Development, Water Treatment Plants, Hospitals, Mineral Exploration, Major Agricultural Investment Works and other programmes of works at specific locations agreed with the government for providing the most value for the population. This phase 1 will take 10 years. Phases 2,3, & 4 which will complete the rest of the scope of works under the backbone investment programme will be delivered in 12 years after phase 1. Some of the works will however overlap. The total investment of $172bn will be delivered over a period of 22 years.
