Mr Jovita Chinedum Okeahialam, started his banking career with Dean Witter Investments in the USA, as a junior investment analyst. He came back to Nigeria in late 1987 and joined Nigeria Merchant bank and since then has worked with various Nigerian Merchant and Commercial banking institutions. He has been in a senior management banking position since 1999 and recently exited Ecobank Nigeria Limited, the Pan African Bank, in 2019, as a Vice President/ Regional Head Commercial Bank Group, South-South / South East, where he worked for over 12 years and supervised the 11 States in that Business Area.
Jovita holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in Science from University of Nigeria, Nsukka, BSc (Hons) Finance & Banking from University of Port Harcourt, MBA (Finance) & MS Economics from Alabama A&M University, Normal, Alabama, USA. A well trained and versatile banker, he has attended various banking and Executive Management Courses in Nigeria, Europe and the USA. During the course of his banking career, he was involved in the funding and set up of various private and public sector projects in Nigeria and, as Vice President/Country Manager, was very involved in the Organic expansion of Ecobank Nigeria Ltd, branch network, in the South-South / South East.
