Senator Dr Ken Nnamani holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Business Administration, MBA, from Ohio University, Athens, USA.
Throughout his education years Sen Nnamani, active in sports activities, especially football, has remained a football fan to this day.
Mr Nnamani spent most of his life as a public servant.
Before his foray into politics and public service, he held many commanding positions in the private sector and worked variously as a consultant for Du Pont De Nemours International SA, Geneva and Nova Chemicals International SA, Canada.
He also founded the Ken Nnamani Centre for Leadership and Development: a foundation that promotes the essential values of ethical leadership and good governance, particularly among Nigerian youth leaders.
In recognition for his tremendous contribution to nation-building, the Federal Government of Nigeria conferred the second-highest National Honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON on Senator Ken Nnamani on December 21, 2006.
After a successful legislative duty, Senator Nnamani was awarded an Honoris Causa Doctor of Laws Degree by the Ohio University, Athens, his Alma Mater, in recognition and appreciation of his civic leadership for his transparency in public affairs and adherence to constitutional and legislative due process and also a further Honorary Doctor of Law Degree by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
On November 12, 2007, the New York-based Parliamentarians For Global Action (PGA) presented him the 2007 Defender of Democracy Award, making Senator Nnamani the first Nigerian ever to receive the award.
Senator Nnamani is a fierce fighter against corruption. He was awarded the Role Model Award in the Fight Against Corruption, conferred to him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in conjunction with the Code of Conduct Bureau, an independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission (ICPC), supported by other international agencies like the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
On May 14, 2008, the Aka Ikenga Leadership and Good Governance Initiative, presented the prestigious 1st Aka Ikenga Leadership Award to Senator Nnamani.
Senator Nnamani Is a Traditional Chief of Owa-n’echiri-oha 1 of Enugu and Aku-Ruo-Uno 1 of Amechi Awkunanaw.
